About Me

I am a second generation British Indian living in London. I am a qualified lawyer with many years experience working in this field. My interest in psychotherapy grew out of becoming increasingly interested in self exploration and reflecting on how our habits can limit us.  I have a deep curiosity and interest in the interconnectedness of us all, whatever our backgrounds.

In my personal history I have an understanding of cross cultural issues and how we all carry with us our generational histories and childhood adaptations and underneath all of this, there lies our authentic self.

My own experiences and the work I have done on myself in my own therapeutic journey, my training in both Western psychodynamic principles and Eastern philosophies and my experience as a therapist have contributed to me having the tools to hold whatever a client may bring.

My Approach

My way of working is to provide a safe, kind and caring space for a client to bring whatever feels important to share and within this relational field, we are both with whatever arises. There is an awareness of what comes up in the mind and body and exploration as to different ways of being in the world, that are more attuned to the true self.

It is a joint enquiry and I hold a deep belief that the client is the expert of their own life and the relationship is a space for the client to bring to awareness their inherent health that may have been obscured. I view myself as a co-traveller on the journey of another and this is a huge privilege.

I offer a free introductory session to answer any questions you may have , discuss what you would like to bring to therapy and for us to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit. If we do proceed to therapy we will hold a review at six weeks before ongoing therapy takes place.

Psychotherapy Training and Experience

I have trained at the internationally renowned Karuna Institute.  I have a Masters Degree in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy (Middlesex University) and Diploma in Core Process Psychotherapy. View Details.

I have had several years experience of volunteering at the Centre of Better Health, Hackney; the Spiral Centre in Holloway and for the charity NHS Front Line following the Covid pandemic.  I have had a wide range of clients bringing different issues and from different backgrounds.

This has really built on my experience and has enhanced my practice. I work with a wide range of issues and have a particular interest in childhood, generational trauma, work stress, anxiety, depression and parenting.

I am a registered member of the UK Council of Psychotherapy (To UKCP) and abide by their Code of Ethics and the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACCP). Click here for UKCP code of Ethics

Where I Practice

My private practice is completely on line.  Largely due to the Covid pandemic on line therapy has become standard practice and has practical advantages of flexibility and geography is not a barrier if there is a good fit with a client.

Data Protection and Privacy

I am fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as set out in the UKCP website.
